Non-organic cosmetics 'contain harmful chemicals'
A'kin body care products may be a natural alternative to lotions that contain chemicals, as the latter have been described by one writer as potentially harmful.
Writing for the Berkley Beacon, Stephanie Thomas explained many individuals use cosmetics without knowing what ingredients they contain.
She claimed that some shampoos and hair products are made up of animal-based products, which are disguised by technical names.
It was noted that switching to organic and natural lotions could help boost a person's health.
"Many ingredients can prove harmful to your body, regardless of how oh-so-pretty they make you look and feel," Ms Thomas commented.
When making a switch to natural products, users were advised that they need to be aware that organic cosmetics have a shorter shelf-life as they contain no preservatives.
Makeup artist and skincare specialist Sophie Chamings recently claimed that non-synthetic lotions are gentle on the skin and have good long-term effects.
