New app aims to explain cosmetic chemicals
Individuals may be more inclined to use Living Nature products after hearing how a new app could help them understand what chemicals are found in many cosmetics.
Founder of Human Nature Anna Meloto-Wilk told GMA News how the technology runs on both iOS and Android devices and has a database of more than 26,000 ingredients.
The app has been launched as part of the Read the Label campaign, which is designed to inform customers of the hazardous chemicals used to create certain items.
Marketing head for Human Nature Joanna Gilladoga said: "When 60 per cent of the product is absorbed by your skin, it makes you think - maybe we should be more discerning about what we put in our body."
According to the Read the Label campaign, one in three people will suffer from cancer at some point in their lifetime, with studies suggesting synthetic chemical ingredients in everyday products could have an influence.
