Parents 'moving towards natural baby products'
The high levels of formaldehyde and neurotoxins in bubble bath and shampoo are driving more and more parents towards buying natural baby products, new research has shown.
According to the Nutrition Business Journal, sales of natural and organic personal care (N&OPC) goods aimed at children have reached $300 million (£180.9 million), with mums and dads prepared to pay more for products such as the A'kin Pure Baby range.
Natural baby products and organic baby care items were the primary drivers in the children's natural and organic personal care sector, with goods aimed at kids accounting for three per cent of the entire N&OPC market.
Estimates from the journal suggest that sales of natural baby products reached $159 million last year, an increase of 18 per cent compared to 2007, with the goods accounting for 25 per cent of the total baby personal care sector.
In other news, those with offspring in their teenage years should recommend that they alter their natural skin care regime and moisturise to minimise the number of spots they get.
