Skin care myths are 'dangerous'
People wanting to avoid damaging their skin this summer need to be aware of the skin care myths which can actually cause problems.
The Daily Mirror reports that some people falsely believe myths like the sun is not hot enough in the UK to cause skin cancer, which could be putting them at risk.
People interested in organic skin care products may be interested in the list of do's and don'ts, which said sunscreens need to be changed yearly or they could lose their effectiveness.
Dr Barry Powell, the national clinical director on skin cancer, spoke to the newspaper and warned about complacency toward skin cancer in the UK.
He said: "The highest instance of malignant melanoma in the UK is in western Scotland. The sun doesn't shine much there but there are lots of people with Celtic skin who burn easily."
In other natural skin care news, the country singer Miranda Lambert has told OK! magazine recently that she takes skin care tips from Nicole Kidman, who inspired her to wear sunscreen everyday in order to maintain her natural beauty.
