Bentley Organic: Natural baby products becoming more popular
Nearly a third of parents with primary school age children will only allow their kids to eat organic or free range meat due to concerns about how over-intensely farmed meat and processed products will affect them, according to new research.
A survey conducted by pig breeders www.GoldenRiverFarms.co.uk, found that five per cent of parents were even considering to cut meat from their child's diet completely if they could not guarantee that they would be able to choose organic or free range produce.
The results of the research suggest a growing trend towards preference for natural and organic products, whether these are foods or cosmetics. Chris Holmes, sales and marketing representative for Bentley Organic, said that this was also true for parents with even younger children.
"I think people are more aware now than ever of the impact that some products have on the environment in their manufacturer and production," he said.
"In turn they are becoming more switched on to not only packaging issues but ingredients and this gets magnified when we get to baby products," Mr Holmes continued.
He said that parents are very conscious of what they are applying to their child's skin as it is much more sensitive than adults and he believes that natural and organic baby products are therefore becoming more popular.
People prefer to make the natural choice, he suggested, but can sometimes be deterred by the price.
"We are in a challenging economic environment right now. There is always an issue with cost - to have a better product with higher quality ingredients it is more costly so in turn this is reflected in a higher retail price," Mr Holmes acknowledged.
"But it's worth it," he insisted. "You are what you absorb, as you are what you eat."
Mr Holmes highlighted the example of the Bentley Organic Baby Lotion, which is made with chamomile, aloe vera and natural vitamin E so it conditions, hydrates and revitalises a child's skin.
"Also being a lotion means you can apply it throughout the day," he added.
Another of Bentley Organic'smore unique offerings when it comes to natural baby products is the Kids Toy Sanitizer. This is certified organic, made from 90 per cent organic ingredients, so parents can be reassured that lots of chemicals are not being sprayed onto toys and play areas. It kills 99.9 per cent of household germs to leave playthings hygienically clean.
Mr Holmes insisted: "That's an innovative product!"
