Creating the catwalk beauty trends with natural makeup
From New York grunge to London's barely-there look, this year's fashion weeks have sparked plenty of makeup trends that you may want to try for yourself.
The good news is that you can recreate these using natural makeup. First, the grunge look, which was seen at the likes of the Marc Jacobs and Rag & Bone shows during New York Fashion Week.
For this look, you want to aim for a slept-in look, characterised by dewy skin and moody eyes.
"This look is what you'd see on a girl from the East Village or St Germain des Pres - an existentialist with a modern twist," said the creator of the look for Marc Jacobs' show, Francois Nars.
To create the dewy base, you may want to try Living Nature's Illuminating Tint Light Foundation. This light formula has a gentle shimmer to give the complexion a soft radiance.
When it comes to creating the smudgy, smoky eye that is key to this look, you'll need an eye liner, such as Living Nature's pencil in Midnight.
This should be smudged with a bronze colour, such as Inika Cosmetics' Mineral Eye Shadow in Burnt Sienna or Whisper.
For the natural, barely-there look that featured heavily in London Fashion Week, you'll need a flawless base, so try using Inika's Perfection Concealer to even out the skin tone and hide blemishes, dark circles and pigmentation.
Taupe and beige shades are ideal for the eyes when creating this natural look and Inika Cosmetics' Mineral Eye Shadows in Gold Dust and Peach Fetish will work well.
You still want to use mascara, but not too much as it should enhance your lashes rather than make a statement. Therefore, try Inika's Mineral Mascara in Brown.
Professional makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury went for the natural finish for the Julian Macdonald show and explained: "We want the girls to look clean, like there's no makeup. It's simply healthy glowing skin with a pinched cheek. It's a no makeup makeup look."
To get radiant, glowing skin, apply Inika's Light Reflecting Creme. This can be used to highlight the cheek, brow bones and eyelid for a naturally luminous look.
After all these pared-down looks at New York, London and Paris, we saw some colour returning in Milan, on both the lips and the eyes.
At Dolce & Gabbana, makeup artist Pat McGrath went for a modern twist on the classic red lip look.
"It's the way real women wear makeup, not so perfectly applied as we normally do here. But still gorgeous and radiant," she explained.
Ms McGrath mixed different shades to get the wine-red colour for the models, however you may want to go for Inika Cosmetics' lipstick in Bordeaux Bliss or Tuscan Tales.
