Diet tips for natural glossy hair

Diet tips for natural glossy hair Healthy hair is not only obtained through the use of natural shampoo products, but also from the foods we consume.

This is according to nutritionist and author Suzi Grant, who explained there are "essential" vitamins and minerals that help boost locks and keep them looking shiny and glossy.

She described how Omega 3 is great for hair, skin and hormones, with oily fish one of the best places to find the fatty acid.

"If you're vegetarian, linseeds are the highest form of vegetarian Omega 3, so you can have either linseeds in your food or, even better, linseed oil," Ms Grant stated.

According to the specialist, essential fatty acids work wonders in preventing the signs of ageing and their benefits are promoted by doctors.

Other foods that boost the appearance of locks include raspberries and blackberries, which are rich in anti-oxidants, while acai and goji berries are popular superfoods.

Apples were also noted as being high in vitamin C, which can help with overall health and wellbeing.

Combining nutrient-boosting foods with organic shampoos may help ladies to achieve their desired healthy tresses without resorting to chemical-based products.

In a recent article for the Ecologist, George Blacksell described how many hair care goods contain additives that can cause people to suffer allergic reactions or develop health problems.

Consumers were warned to avoid shampoos that feature bronopol, as the preservative is a "particularly unpleasant chemical" that can act as a skin irritant.

Meanwhile, ethoxylated surfactants are another ingredient to look out for as they too can upset the skin's natural balance.

One of the most common products found in shampoos is sodium lauryl sulphate which is used to create the foaming effect, Mr Blackwell commented.

However, while this may appear nice in the shower it is in fact said to cause dryness of the skin as well as tresses and should be avoided.
