Party makeup and hair for a chic festive season
You've picked out your party ensemble, you've got the ideal pair of shoes and the perfect handbag - now it's time to think about your festive makeup and hair, ladies!
None of us are made of money, so the key to getting quality mileage out of your outfits is to experiment with a signature hair and cosmetics style.
First things first: to stay fresh and flawless throughout the evenings, it's wise to invest in a good foundation.
A writer for the Telegraph explained: "You don't want to keep nipping off for make-up re-touches when you could be having fun, so it's essential to invest in a good foundation that's right for your skin type."
Once you've got your base sorted, it's time to think about this season's biggest trends. Whether you want to vamp it up or play it sweet, there's a look to suit everyone.
Statement lips, slicked with bold colours are big news right now. Models Direct suggested that pillarbox reds are perfect and bang on trend, but if you're not brave enough to be so brash, ruby and scarlet colours are a more demure way to get involved.
For those of you that prefer to make the most of your peepers, there are a variety of options. Smoky eyes always have it, so you can go sophisticated and elegant with a tried-and-tested option.
Glitter is something that always makes an appearance in the run up to Christmas, but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing!
Ariane Poole, celebrity makeup artist and Pearl Drops spokesperson, said that ladies should avoid going over-the-top with the sparkle in order to not look "a mess".
She explained: "If you have shimmer on your eyes then you can either leave it at that or you can choose to accent either the cheeks or the lips but not both."
Moving on to your hair, it's time to befriend your curling tong and volumising mousse again - because big continues to be better this winter. Think pumped-up versions of your favourite go-to styles, whether it be tumbling curls, tousled crops or back-combed quiffs.
Hair artist Eric Del Monaco told the Vancouver Sun: "Ponytails are always big. It's really a season that you can go overboard and really just use your imagination and let it go wild."
So there you have it ladies - get cracking!
