Take the plunge with your hair this summer

Take the plunge with your hair this summer This summer is all about the hair and much to the delight of many fashionistas, there has been an influx of different trends and colours to choose from to help them stand out from the crowd.

However, picking between the different options can be tough, so to help you along the way I've picked out some of the best cuts showcased by the leading authorities in the fashion business, along with the hair colours that will suit the style best.

First up is the summer crop, a short choppy cut that has been sported by Hayden Panetierre, Michelle Williams and Frankie Sandford from The Saturdays.

This is a style that is perfect for summer, short and easy to manage, especially if you've got particularly straight hair and it can also be vamped up for evening events; for inspiration on that side of things look to Hayden's quiff with twisted sections pinned back.

When it comes to colours, red has to be the shade of the hour, or should I say, season – Rihanna and Sharon Osborne have both taken the plunge and are working the colour admirably.

If this is something for you, try out Naturtint Hair Dye in Fire Red for show-stopping colour that won't damage your scalp, or if you're feeling less sure about diving in for such a vibrant colour, consider Naturtint Hair Dye in Arizona Copper.

Another summer style that makes an appearance every year is the tousled look, which does work particularly well with blonde for that beach bum look, although any hair colour can take on this look.

Look to Naturtint Hair Dye in Sandy Golden Blonde or Light Ash Blonde and for the styling, ensure your curls aren't too perfect – this is more about creating volume than ringlets, and once you're done run your fingers through with some product.

The final style is suitable for any shade, though again this may work better with darker shades and is a surprising fashion – the slicked back look. Now I'm sure none of you thought this would ever come into fashion, but the catwalk is awash with the style.

For a less offensive take on the look, slick hair back into a low ponytail with a deep side parting and tie hair and smooth on some wet look gel, but not on to the pony itself.

Happy styling!ADNFCR-2389-ID-19913178-ADNFCR
