Tips on male grooming
Organic moisturisers and cleansers are not only designed for women, but there are numerous ranges now available for men.
This is according to Ecouterre.com writer Lisa Hanson, who recommended males treat themselves to grooming products ahead of the Christmas party season.
She commented how eco-friendly beauty items are kind to both the environment and the skin, due to their lack of chemical enhancements.
Starting with hair care, men were advised that many ingredients found in traditional products can damage locks and "make the scalp dry and flaky".
Instead, Ms Hanson recommended opting for natural shampoo that contains oils which will "keep your tresses healthy and shiny".
For men who have been taking part in this month's Movember fundraising appeal, it was suggested that organic shaving products could help ensure skin remains in a good condition.
Before using a razor, Ms Hanson instructed individuals to exfoliate, as this helps remove dead skin cells and bring hair to the surface so they can achieve a close shave.
Facial scrubs that are chemical-free were recommended as likely to be gentler on skin, as they will moisturise the face with natural oils.
Ms Hanson's next tip was to cleanse skin twice a day – each morning and night – with a cleanser that "isn't too drying", but will remove dirt "without stripping your skin of its moisture".
The final step is to keep skin hydrated by using a lightweight product that will balance oil production but not block pores.
"A step most men forget to do, moisturising your skin twice a day keeps your punim in tip-top shape," Ms Hanson claimed.
Wearing a product that contains an SPF was also recommended if men spend a lot of time outdoors, as this can avoid sun damage to the face.
In a separate piece for ecouterre.com, Mike Chino remarked how avoiding "chemical-laden" facial products and disposable razors can help males to be greener when they shave.
