Trend Alert: Natural red eye shadow
Reds are everywhere this season; clothes, hair colours and lipsticks, but now red natural eye shadow is becoming a trend.
According to Allure magazine, whilst you may worry sporting ruby peepers may make you look like you need a good night's sleep, it's actually very wearable.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath said the trick to making this look work is to layer the colours, reported the news source.
"Keep the bottom colour deep," said Ms McGrath, then add a more shimmery shade over the top.
The result? "The red comes out in the light, but overall the eye colour is burnished," the expert said.
This suggestion was echoed by Ourvanity.com. It also advised wearing plenty of natural eyeliner to define your eyes and prevent them looking swollen.
For a more subtle take on this look, the news source recommended taking a page out of Rihanna's book and wearing thick red eyeliner with a softer pink eye shadow.
