Avocados described as an important superfood
Individuals looking to boost their health this winter have been advised to try superfoods such as avocados.
Nutritionist and author Suzi Grant explained how they are packed with essential fats and are "really good for you".
She explained how avocados contain the correct type of fats that are vital in keeping hair, skin and eyes healthy.
"Every cell in your body needs essential fats, [though] obviously not the bad fats," Ms Grant commented.
Other tips for healthy seasonal foods included raw root vegetables that are currently in season.
For example grated beetroot, carrots and celeriac where all noted as "incredibly filling" and taste "delicious" when baked with olive oil and garlic for seasoning.
Ms Grant's advice follows recent comments by editor of Healthy magazine Jane Druker, who recommended eating parsnips, swede, leeks and potatoes in winter as they contain plenty of vitamins and minerals.
