Expert recommends sourcing organic foods locally

Expert recommends sourcing organic foods locally Fans of organic beauty treatments who are hoping to boost their health through natural products may want to take one expert's advice on sourcing foods locally.

Suzi Grant, nutritionist and author, explained how produce is more likely to contain high concentrates of minerals and vitamins if they are fresh.

"The most important thing is for people to try to find a farmer's market, [to] try their local butcher [and to] try their local green grocer," she stated.

It was noted that fruit and vegetables will be packed with more vitamin C and other nutrients if they have been grown in the UK and had less of a distance to travel.

Ms Grant described how farmer's markets "are everywhere now" and not only provide individuals with fresher produce but can also work out cheaper than purchasing items from a supermarket.

For those looking to boost their skin and hair, the specialist recently recommended including plenty of fatty acids in a diet.
