Food types have the potential to alter mood and the gut
Eating natural food products and those which are not full of fat could help people relieve stress.
Dr Nick Read, a gastroenterologist, said that people find different ways of easing the pressure, and diet can play a large role in this.
"Food and mood work together on the gut. There are certain foods that will upset a stressed gut. Once the gut is tense, stressed and sensitive, there are certain foods that are going to cause problems such as fats, fibre, some fruits and coffee," he stated.
Dr Read added that these less-healthy foodstuffs would probably cause problems in most people but these can be exacerbated if a person has a sensitive gut.
The expert said that a high-fibre diet can make the symptoms of a sensitive gut even worse, so therefore it is best to cut back on things like bran.
Recently, Simon Jurkiw, research and education manager at Mxinutrition, said that nutrient-rich supplements can help people with a natural skin care routine, as they provide an excellent source of nourishment.
