Natural beauty: Avocados are healthier than people think
Fans of natural skin care should ignore the unhealthy image that avocados have, according to one newspaper, which said that there are many benefits to eating the fruit.
The Times reported that half a medium avocado contains around 132 calories, which is less than the amount in 100g of humous or 50gs of pumpkin seeds.
"You also gain on the nutritional front because avocados give us a plant compound called beta-sitosterol. With a similar structure to cholesterol, like the phytosterols added to yoghurts and spreads that lower cholesterol," it stated.
The newspaper added that the fruit gives the body vitamin B, which helps nerves and circulation, as well as potassium and vitamin E.
Hollywood actor Sandra Bullock has revealed that her natural beauty regime only takes eight minutes, showing that less can be more when it comes to makeup.
