Natural foods 'can control help acne'
Avoiding overexposure to the sun and eating natural and organic foods are two of the top tips which a website gives for people suffering from acne this summer.
Emaxhealth.com gave its top ten tips to help calm the skin condition just in time to tie in with acne awareness month which runs throughout June.
Eating organic foods which have lots of natural acids, such as alpha hydroxy acid, was highly placed in the list and the website said that the acids offer anti-aging properties as well.
It stated: "They [alpha hydroxy acid products] claim to rejuvenate the skin by encouraging the shedding of old, sun-damaged surface skin cells, which promotes a fresher, healthier look with a more even colour and texture."
Other tips included trying to minimise stress levels during the summer months when acne can be easily aggravated.
The summer sun brings new challenges for non-acne sufferers, according to Examiner.com, which said using lighter makeup and protecting skin with sunscreen are two crucial changes people wanting to achieve natural beauty can make this summer.
