Natural remedies can reduce symptoms
People who eat natural remedies could have a better chance of reducing symptoms from some ailments, according to one expert, which could interest fans of organic skin care.
Dr Mike Smith, who regularly appears on TV, radio and in print said that research from Newcastle University shows that Brazilian mint is as effective as an aspirin-style drug.
He said: "Many of us do reach for the medicine cabinet too quickly [...] Many natural remedies when taken correctly for the right ailment, have been proven to relieve symptoms for many common ailments."
The expert added that many natural remedies are side-effect free and are particularly effective on short-term ailments and illnesses.
Mint tea is a natural drink which the doctor recommends for settling the stomach, while he explained that others can help treat symptoms of a blocked nose.
Researchers at Newcastle University have announced that they are going to launch clinical trials to find out how effective the mint is as a pain relief for people after the success of the initial trials.
