Omega-3 skin benefits noted
Those looking to achieve a natural skin care look can opt to eat foods with more omega-3 in, something that is said to be good for the skin.
International Omega-3 Day took place earlier this week, highlighting the benefits of the ingredient, which is also good for people's eyesight and cardiovascular health, authority of seafood Seafish explained.
The organisation was referring to findings discussed at a conference on seafood and health earlier this year.
"For some time, seafood has been recognised as the best dietary source of omega-3 oils and the reduction in the risk of heart attack death is the most widely accepted benefit from eating more seafood," Seafish said in a statement.
It added that there is a general consensus that eating more fish will reduce the risk of death from a heart attack by around 25 to 30 per cent.
In other health food news, research from Sheffield Hallam University found that polyphenols in cooked Yorkshire rhubarb could be included in new non-toxic medication for cancer patients.
