Organic skin care: Healthy diet can help prevent cancer

Organic skin care: Healthy diet can help prevent cancer Following a healthy diet can give people the best possible chance of avoiding cancer, according to one expert, who said that being physically active is also important, which could interest fans of natural treatment.

Dr Rachel Thompson, science programme manager from the World Cancer Research Fund, said that at the moment there is only limited evidence on how people can avoid the disease but following a good diet could be key.

"In the absence of better evidence, the best approach is to follow the general recommendations for cancer prevention. These include following a healthy diet, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight," she stated.

The British Medical Journal has recently published a report into cancer and found that there was a significant incidence of cardiovascular complications among adult survivors of a variety of childhood and adolescent cancers some time after treatment.

It also showed that young adults who survive cancer at an early age are "clearly at risk" from early cardiac morbidity and mortality not usually seen in that group.
