Alcohol-based mouthwashes may cause cancer

Alcohol-based mouthwashes may cause cancer Fans of natural mouthwash should avoid using washes that use alcohol, according to one piece of research which showed that the product can cause oral cancer.

Professor Robin Seymour told the British Dental Journal that his research team at Newcastle University found that the alcohol-based item can also cause burning, dryness and mouth pain.

He told the Daily Mail: "The evidence shows an association that we should take seriously because oral cancer is a significant disease that has been rising over the last ten years, especially among younger people."

The expert added that his big concern is that people who already smoke and drink heavily could be adding another risk factor when using the mouth care product regularly.

Some women are putting more than 500 different chemicals on their face when they apply their makeup, according to a Bionsen-published study which showed that non-natural lipsticks contains an average of 33 ingredients.
