Consumers will carry on being price conscious

Consumers will carry on being price conscious Fans of organic skin care will continue to be price-conscious after the recession has finished, according to one expert, who said frugal buying habits have become a part of normal life.

Sarah Peters, a senior retail analyst specialising in fashion at research company Verdict, said that companies which offer value for money will flourish as people will be cautious about splashing out on lavish goods.

She said: "Looking forward, these [value-for-money] brands will continue to perform quite well, especially whilst customers have still got that air of caution about where they are shopping."

The industry expert added that fans of natural skin care may experience other financial difficulties after the downturn has passed and that will encourage a more price-conscious culture among consumers.

In other news, Leyla Tabaksert, beauty editor at Zest magazine, recently said that men are just as interested as women when it comes to natural beauty products and personal grooming but do not admit it.
