Karl Lagerfeld embraces natural beauty in new show
One of the most iconic fashion designers in the world has embraced natural beauty in his latest collection for Chanel which takes its influence from the pastoral countryside.
The German designer unveiled his collection for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week and the catwalk was transformed into a barn with haystacks, which Lily Allen performed a song on top of.
He said: "I hear all this talk about organic farming and the environment and I'm all for it, but there must be a certain sophistication, so it's not used as an excuse to let things go to seed."
Fans of natural skin care may be interested in the show, which saw lots of tweed and dungarees on display, and celebrities such as Rihanna and Prince watched from the stalls.
Liz Hoggard, writing for the London Evening Standard, recently said that smoky eyes and dark makeup are set to be the new style for the autumn after it emerged as a main trend at London Fashion Week.
