'Less is more' with fake tan

'Less is more' with fake tan Fans of natural skin care may be interested to hear about the secrets to the perfect self tan, as revealed by one beauty expert.

Applying fake tan is an art form says the celebrity beauty guru Nichola Joss, who told the Daily Mail that the key to achieving a natural look is to take your time and prepare skin properly.

She said: "I liken the process to cooking. You need to be prepared, with all your ingredients and tools ready, and take your time. We all want a perfect self-tan instantly, but it's not that simple."

Ms Joss added that this year's big look is a gentle glow as opposed to the full bronze which was popular with people who preferred to fake rather than bake last year.

For novice fake tanners the skin care guru, whose clients include Paris Hilton, Sienna Miller and Hugh Jackman, said that tanning moose is the best type of product for people wanting to achieve a convincing natural look.

In other natural beauty news, it was recently suggested by The Independent's diet and fitness correspondent Eilish O'Regan that eating salmon, dark green vegetables and nuts helps maintain healthy looking hair.
