Natural body care: Plus size models cause stir at London Fashion Week
London Fashion Week has seen the re-emergence of the plus-size model debate after the stylist Erika Kurihara had to deny she refused to work with designer Mark Fast because of his choice to use unconventionally larger girls.
The Guardian reported that there were rumours Ms Kurihara did not work with Fast because of his choice to put models such as size 12 Hayley Morley into revealing outfits in response to suggestions he does not make clothes for 'real' women.
In response Ms Kurihara told the newspaper: "My ideal woman is [the size ten model] Lara Stone or Beyonce I celebrate strong, healthy women."
Stylist Daniella Agnelli joined in the debate and added that she thought the plus sized models looked "fantastic" and even suggested one of them should open the show, which may interest fans of natural beauty.
Recently the debate about larger girls has been in the press after an image of plus-size model Lizzie Miller with noticeable body fat was featured in Glamour Magazine.
