Natural body care: Sunscreen won't last forever

Natural body care: Sunscreen won't last forever Fans of natural skin care need to make sure they do not keep their sunscreen for too long once it is opened, according to one newspaper, which recommends keeping the product cool and out of the sun.

The Daily Mail suggested that people should not keep sun cream for more than a few months because once it has been opened its effectiveness can be reduced over time.

It stated: "Don't keep sun protection products that have been opened for any longer than three months, as bacteria can also damage the cream's filters - you can usually spot this when the cream begins to separate."

The newspaper added that keeping sun cream in the fridge can be a good way to make sure it is cool and refreshing when it is applied to skin.

In other natural beauty news, makeup analyst Alexandra Richmond recently told the Daily Mail that some women are risking their health by not paying enough attention to the use-by date on their cosmetics.
