Natural skin care needs summertime re-jig

Natural skin care needs summertime re-jig Fans of natural skin care can be sucked in by urban myths, according to one dermatologist, who said that it is important to protect complexions against the sun with the right products.

Dermatologist Seo Sung-jun of Choong Ang Medical Center, told the Korean Times that myths like the idea that wearing a hat will provide enough protection from the sun are false and said sunscreen should be applied alongside other protective methods.

The dermatologist told the newspaper: "Wearing hats or staying in the shade may seem like a good way to avoid the sun, but you still can be affected by ultraviolet rays and others factors."

Seo Sung-jun said the cream can be removed by water, sweat and various other factors so it needs topping up regularly.

He added that spraying water onto the face can actually dry it out rather than moisturising it, while using saunas too often can lead to skin inflammation.

Good Housekeeping magazine recently wrote that natural skin care products are better for skin because they leave out ingredients that chemical-based cosmetics include.
