Natural skin care: Vitamin D 'important' in battling skin cancer
A group of researchers have called for sun-shy people to get more rays as they found that a growing percentage of people are not getting enough vitamin D.
Fans of natural skin care maybe interested in the research as Dr Veronique Bataille, who led the study, told the Telegraph that too much is being made of the damaging effect of the sun.
She said: "There has been so much effort put into telling people about the damaging effects of ultraviolet light from sunshine, many now take extreme measures to ensure they don't get exposure by wearing moisturisers with factor 15 all year round."
The skin expert added that the group does not say that sunbathing is healthy because there are clear health risks, but reiterated that sunshine is important to stay healthy.
Nicole Kidman is a famous fan of sunscreen and she uses the product throughout the year because of its anti-ageing properties.
