Organic cosmetics: Check certificate for authenticity
An expert has advised lovers of organic cosmetics to check the certification of their favourite products before purchasing them.
Keen natural skin care followers can invest in anything from organic face cream, to organic bodywash and organic deodorant – but you should always check the credentials of your natural cosmetics to make sure they're truly authentic.
Tina Gill, marketing and sales manager at Organic Monitor, said: "[Consumers should] look at the ingredient lists and check it doesn't have certain types of chemicals. If they go for a certified product by the Soil Association, or an Ecocert product they will be guaranteed that they are a real natural product."
Ms Gill's advice comes as Datamonitor released a survey which showed that more than half of shoppers worldwide believe natural ingredients are better for them, and 57 per cent were concerned about the ingredients in their natural cosmetics.
However, only 16 per cent of shoppers said that they felt highly-informed about the impact of chemicals on their health.
