Sleep is a vital ingredient for natural beauty
Chemical-based products are not the best way to retain natural beauty, according to one magazine, which said that a good night's sleep is a vital part of keeping good looks.
Stylist magazine said that fans of natural skin care who do not get enough shut-eye are doing damage to their complexions but added that they can use some creams to help skin repair itself.
It stated: "Pop quiz: what's the one essential ingredient to fight those pesky signs of ageing that doesn't cost the Earth? Pentapeptides? Botox? Afraid not. It's some good old-fashioned shut-eye."
The magazine added that, for the past year, the beauty industry has been looking for ways to combat ageing that is caused by sleep-starved lifestyles.
Thai TV actress and compere Chen Mei-feng recently told the Straits Times that she manages to retain her good looks on a minimal amount of sleep and being aware of exactly what she is putting onto her body.
