Woman banned from bus for perfume allergy issues
A woman has been banned from her bus route as her perfume causes the driver to have an allergic reaction.
Alice Dwornik is now not allowed to travel on her usual route to work as the driver sufferers from asthma, which is triggered by the product and could lead to safety issues if he had an attack, reported the Star Phoenix.
Jamie Robinson, transit operations manager for the bus company, said that the reaction can lead to watery eyes, shortness of breath, dizziness and nausea.
The bus firm has suggested that Ms Dwornik applies the product after getting on the bus, but until then it will not stop for her each morning. She told the newspaper: "There is nowhere on the bus that says, 'scent-free'."
Simon Golding, founder of mypure, said it's not uncommon for perfumes to have over 100 different manmade chemicals in them.
"Unfortunately for sensitive people this chemical cocktail often causes respiratory problems and skin sensitivities," he added.
