Natural skin care market 'key division of the sector'
The cosmetics market has separated into a number of divisions, with natural and organic skin care products a key sector, an expert asserts.
Ed Butler, senior analyst at IBISWorld, tells My Small Business that nutriceutical products such as fruit-based skin care items are bought by different people to the more chemically-active goods, such as firming body creams.
He states that the men's market has also taken off in recent years, as this did not exist a decade ago, and identifies it as a growth tracker.
"It's only a small part of the industry - about eight per cent - but it's doubled in value in the past five years. So it's gone from zero a decade ago to a $150 million (£94.2 million) or $200 million," Mr Butler tells the news provider.
Earlier this month, Raquel Watters, co-owner of Brickell's Rik-Rak Salon, highlighted the importance of men with long hair using organic and natural hair care products, the Miami Herald reports.
