Overloading on products can 'harm skin'

Overloading on products can 'harm skin' A skin care expert says that women who use too many chemical-based skin care products could be causing damage in the long term.

Dr Bang Hyeong-don, the head dermatologist at Uniseoul Clinic, told the Korean website Chosun IIbo that women who combine unnatural skin care products without knowing what they are doing could be creating a dangerous mix.

He said: "Vitamin C-fortified products that reduce the creation of melanin have been selling well recently, despite their high prices.”

However, the doctor added that when vitamin C products are applied at the same time as products with the wrinkle remover retinol in them, the combination can actually be harmful to skin.

Other advice included using a more balanced natural skin care regime which does not include too many different products and makes use of natural ingredients.

Dr Hyeong-don said that lotions which contain preservatives are especially dangerous because if they are combined with the wrong product they can actually make skin problems worse.
