Overloading on products can 'harm skin'
A skin care expert says that women who use too many chemical-based skin care products could be causing damage in the long term.
Dr Bang Hyeong-don, the head dermatologist at Uniseoul Clinic, told the Korean website Chosun IIbo that women who combine unnatural skin care products without knowing what they are doing could be creating a dangerous mix.
He said: "Vitamin C-fortified products that reduce the creation of melanin have been selling well recently, despite their high prices.
However, the doctor added that when vitamin C products are applied at the same time as products with the wrinkle remover retinol in them, the combination can actually be harmful to skin.
Other advice included using a more balanced natural skin care regime which does not include too many different products and makes use of natural ingredients.
Dr Hyeong-don said that lotions which contain preservatives are especially dangerous because if they are combined with the wrong product they can actually make skin problems worse.
In other natural skin care news, Examiner.com recently reported that using natural and organic skin care products is the best way to improve the health of your skin.
