Natural beauty look is big for brides
More brides are choosing natural hairstyles before their big day, according to one expert who said that accessories like tiaras are on the way out.
Rachel Southwood, editorial director at Wedding Ideas Magazine, said that natural beauty is influencing wedding day hairstyles and added that hair is becoming an increasingly important part of a bride's look rather than an afterthought.
She said: "In fact hairstyles have gone from the formal up-do thing with many more brides now wearing their hair down loose and with Hollywood big curls [and] soft curls, they are finding a more natural look."
The director added that accessories and hair jewellery were not as popular in recent years as brides move away from glitzy looks in favour of more natural styles.
Hairdressers Toni & Guy recently released a report that focused on general hair trends for summer 2009 which showed blonde women are moving away from synthetic platinum shades to more natural golden tones.
