Natural conditioners essential for hair sun protection
We're well aware of the dangers of burning our skin in the summer heat, but how often do we think about our crowning glory?
Consultant trichologist Iain Sallis has advised ladies that natural conditioners are a must in warm climates, as UV rays can affect your locks as much as they can your skin.
Mr Sallis explained that the sun can dry out your barnet, as well as "bleaching" out the colour by causing oxidisation of the stands.
"Conditioning treatments and pre-shampoo treatments are great for stopping that dry feeling of the hair," he advised.
"Another great way of preventing too much damage is to use an extra 'light' leave-in conditioning spray in your normal regimen."
Conditioning treatments are an absolute must for those ladies wanting to jump on the big, bouffant hair trend, as showcased by Cheryl Cole and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The nature of the style requires holding products such as mousse and hairspray, which can take their toll on your locks.
