Natural hair care: 80s styles are back
The striking hairdos of the 1980s are back en vogue, according to one expert, who said the autumn will be awash with locks that hark back to the decade that style forgot.
Akin Konizi, British Hairdresser of the Year, told The Metro that there will be no escaping over-the-top tresses as we go into the winter months.
Fans of natural hair care should look to people like David Bowie and Grace Jones for inspiration this coming season, according to Konizi, who said the catwalks of designers like Marc Jacobs featured the cut-up looks.
He told the newspaper: "The strong, structured hairstyles of the 1980s are brought up-to-date with volume and movement for a more feminine finish. Think Ziggy Stardust and Grace Jones with hair worn away from the head... for a modern punk feel."
Nail guru Jin Soon Choi, who has worked with such stars as Beyonce and Sarah Jessica Parker, told the Metro that bolder colours, like green, will be prevalent in makeup this autumn.
