Natural hair care: Braids are in this season
Chunky braids are going to be a strong look this winter, according to one magazine, which said that big name designers are embracing the distinctive natural hair style.
Stylist magazine reported that British designers Nathan Jenden and Alexander Wang have used braids on their catwalk models and even big name actors like Rachel McAdams sported the twisted locks.
"Chunky braids are the look this spring, keeping long locks in check while adding a careless glamour. The girls on the spring/summer catwalks at Alexander Wang flaunted Pocahontas-esque plaits," it stated.
The magazine added that to get the look, women should cover their hair in spray and then gather it into a side bunch before plaiting loosely.
Fans of natural hair care can play around with different textures to create inventive styles while growing their locks, according to one expert.
Efi Davies, international artistic director at high street hairdressers Toni & Guy, said that experimenting with texture can help while growing out hair.
