Natural hair care faces winter challenges
Fans of natural shampoo face different challenges in winter, according to one expert who said using a nurturing shampoo and conditioner is the best way to combat the extra stress put on locks.
Stylist magazine's Emma Smith said women can find that the winter months make creating interesting looks harder and a real challenge.
She stated: "In addition to the usual environmental problems of cold weather, central heating, dust and pollution, [and] deep emotional stress can affect the growth of hair [...] the best way to protect hair is through daily shampooing and conditioning."
The expert added that stress can create dullness and loss of elasticity, which in turn leads to breakage and split ends for some women.
One celebrity who has managed to create natural looking tresses this winter is Cat Deeley, who Stylist magazine recently said has swapped her clean cut locks for a looser, more natural hairstyle.
