Natural hair care: How to avoid a home cut disaster
In these tough economic times, it seems even Kate Moss is trying to save cash on her natural hair care routine.
The supermodel told Fashionologie that she ushered in a return of her fringe while bored at home one night, by chopping it in with some kitchen scissors.
It may have worked for Moss, but hair specialist Erin Anderson told NY Daily News there are some tips that would-be home stylists should follow in order to avoid a DIY-'do disaster.
Ms Anderson advised natural hair care fans to use small, sharp scissors – not blunt kitchen ones – to do lock maintenance, working from the centre of the face and moving to the sides in order to keep it even.
She also urged people to cut their hair dry, explaining: "Wet hair dries shorter so it won't give you an accurate idea of what length your fringe will look like every day."
Yesterday, Elle UK reported that the blow dry is big news this season, and advised fashionistas to invest in the right brush, hairdryer and natural serum to achieve a groomed look.
