Natural hair care 'is evolving rapidly'
Natural hair care products are constantly changing and evolving, leaving fans of natural beauty with a plethora of choices, according to one newspaper.
The Montreal Gazette said that natural and organic skin care products are proving more popular with fans of natural beauty who do not want to have a large impact on the environment.
It stated: "Consumers are particularly concerned about the possible health and environmental impact of sulfates, the foaming agents in most shampoos."
The newspaper added that consumer demand for natural skin care products has risen sharply in the last 15 years and the sector is now worth around $9.23 billion (£5.43 billion) per year to the US economy.
Makeup expert Maria Mavrostomos told the newspaper that concerns over the safety of parabens had forced cosmetic companies to re-think their ingredients.
Celebrity makeup artist, Rose-Marie Swift, told Examiner.com about the benefits of using natural skin care products after she struggled with panic attacks when she used chemical-based cosmetics.
