Natural makeup: Demand is up for quality products
During the economic downturn women have learned to be more frugal when it comes to splashing out on beauty treatments, according to one expert, which could mean more people use natural hair care products at home.
Beauty and technology expert Zara Rabinowicz said that impulse buying will make way for more considered purchases, with more women researching their natural makeup before parting with their cash.
"[Women will] also conduct more research into their pricier purchases. Think less impulse, but more considered and you'll have an idea of what the women of 2010 are aiming for," she stated.
The expert added that fans of natural skin care are demanding results from their products and said that more cosmetic companies are upping their games.
Mintel recently claimed that while attitudes of both manufacturers and consumers have been influenced by the global downturn, innovation from industry and consumer resilience have shaped a new attitude towards beauty products going into the new year.
