Natural makeup: Granny chic 'is in vogue'
Stars like Kelly Osbourne, Pixies Geldof and Agyness Deyn have made 'granny chic' the in thing, with grey locks being one of the staples of the new look.
The Guardian reported on the new trend and said that Lady Gaga and Pink have been experimenting with dyeing their locks for a while and are reversing natural hair care attitudes.
"Ageing women and increasingly men have fought a chemical battle against greying for generations. But now silvery streaks are turning up on models in runway outings at the spring shows of Dior and Chanel in Paris and New York," it stated.
The newspaper added that some experts, like Professor Rose Weitz, say that dyeing hair grey shows that women have the money and independence to do what they want.
Blonde women earn more than £1,500 per year than their counterparts, according to research published in the journal Economics Letters.
