Treat your locks to some TLC after using natural hair dye
Even natural hair colour can take its toll on your locks, so anyone that enjoys updating their look with natural hair dye should give their 'do some extra TLC.
Maria Saadat told readers of the Tribune that extra attention needs to be paid to chemical-treated hair, in order to maintain its health and shine.
She explained that strand cuticles become exposed and can turn brittle for several weeks after dying, which can cause problems if your usual products have high Ph levels.
She advised: "The first rule of post-dye hair care is to use colour friendly hair products, starting with shampoo and conditioner. Every brand has specific formulations for colour-treated tresses, and yes, they are worth the investment."
If you're a fan of hitting the dye bottle to update your style, you're in good company – last week, Cheryl Cole told Fashionista that dying her 'do is "just like putting on a different item of clothing".
