Natural products 'a defining trend of our time'
People purchasing natural products is "a defining trend of our time", according to one expert who said that although there is a market to cater for the demand, too many people are using the items in a way that is not eco-friendly.
Philip Malpass, director general at the UK Cleaning Products Industry Association, said that although the industry has made progress in developing energy-efficient cleaning products, consumers are not making the most of them.
"Only around 20 per cent of the overall environmental energy footprint is down to the manufacturer. The remaining 80 per cent is down to the individual and how they use the product," he explained.
The director general added that people do not choose the right wash temperature or dosage and continue to wash half loads.
Fans of natural skin care who eat circulation-boosting foods like blackcurrants can improve their complexion, according to AllAboutYou.com which said that a Japanese research team has found the connection between dark fruit and healthier skin.
