Natural skin care booms
Natural skin care products have been going through a revival around the globe thanks to the increased demand and awareness that consumers have, according to one website.
BusinessScoop.com said that global sales of natural and organic skin care products are increasing by over US $1 billion (£60 million) a year, with most demand concentrated in Europe and North America.
The website added that its preliminary research shows that European sales exceeded US $2 billion for the first time in 2008.
It stated: "The market for natural and organic products has increased by more than 20 per cent a year. It's expected that the natural cosmetics market will report the highest growth in the coming years."
New Zealand was also singled out as a progressive market which is developing very quickly.
In other natural skin care news, organic anti-wrinkle products offer fewer risks than chemical-based cosmetics, according to BestSyndication.com.
