Block colour big for spring natural makeup
Colour blocking is big news this spring, but it's not just for your wardrobe – your natural makeup bag should be sporting some bright and brilliant shades as well.
Look magazine reported that the spring/summer 2011 campaigns and catwalks were splashed with striking shades, applied in bold and eye-catching ways.
"The models [had] statement pouts and bright block-colour eyes, so ditch the black kohl and get ready for some serious shade popping. Check out Christian Dior, Louise Gray and Loewe for inspiration," the writer explained.
"This one's all about strong lines, so forget blending and get painting," they added.
Choose a bright blue natural eye shadow and mascara in the same colour for major impact and coral or fuschia lips for the perfect accessory.
Last week, Estee Lauder makeup artist Tom Pecheux suggested wearing matte white shadow around eye-popping colours, in order to avoid the shade dulling as the day wears on.
