Checking the body should be part of natural skin care routine
People who like to look after themselves with natural skin care products have been told that they should be making checks to their body at least once a month.
Nina Goad, spokesperson for the British Association of Dermatologists, said that it is important to look out for any changes to moles, whether they are growing, if they itch or bleed, and whether patches are appearing on the skin.
"If you do have any concerns about changes to your skin it is best to visit your doctor and get it checked out, which is free on the NHS. If your doctor does have any concerns they will be able to refer you to a consultant dermatologist – the most expert person to diagnose a skin cancer," she stated.
Ms Goad added that most changes to the body are completely hrmless, however, a dermatologist will be able to put the mind at rest.
Her words came after a report in the Archives of Dermatology, which found that men and women often seek further help over sun exposure and a family history of skin problems.
