Chemical-based products can be too confusing
People in Canada are not content to simply consume products which contain unnatural products and are now switching to organic skin care products instead, according to one writer.
Julie Beun-Chown wrote in the Calgary Herald about the trend for people to move away from chemical-based products and instead embrace paraben-free cosmetics.
"If propylene glycol, used in everything from cosmetics and toothpaste to paintballs, causes a reaction in four per cent of the population and may be linked to birth defects, why was I putting it on my face?" She stated.
Ms Beun-Chown added that this was the same for other preservatives like parabens and although authorities have deemed them fit for human consumption, the people of Canada are starting to reject them.
Her comments are supported by figures released by BusinessScoop.com, which said that global sales of natural and organic skin care products are increasing by over US $1 billion (£60 million) a year.
