Colour blocking with natural eye shadow
Colour blocking with natural eye shadow is not just a way to tap into one of this season's hottest fashion trends – it's an amazingly dramatic but wearable trick that style-savvy ladies can work all year round.
If you're wondering how best to make an impact with your peepers, beauty expert Kate Shapland told Daily Telegraph readers that one of the easiest colours to use is blue.
"You can build and intensify colour quickly, turning periwinkle into cobalt and turquoise into a true blue," she explained.
However, for those blessed with naturally darker complexions or who have a radiant summer glow, "mauve, peach and even greens, from sea to sage, look wonderful".
Ms Shapland also suggested experimenting with cream shadows as well as the traditional powdered variety, as they can give dramatically different effects.
For a truly stand-out look, try using coloured eye liner and mascara as well, for a burst of colour with an added softness.
