Couture look-book: Natural makeup trends for spring

Couture look-book: Natural makeup trends for spring If you're looking to experiment with your natural makeup look this season, the Paris Spring 2011 Haute Couture runways have offered up some stunning – and surprisingly wearable – trends to look out for.

Marie Claire reported that the Valentino, Ellie Saab and Chanel shows displayed three very different takes on classic elegance.

For Valentino, the models' complexion was kept china white, while matte mauve natural eye shadow was applied to the upper and lower lids, creating a soft but striking focal point, made more dramatic by bleached-white eyebrows.

Ellie Saab, meanwhile, drew inspiration from style icon Grace Kelly, keeping the lips and cheeks rosy pink, with an understated definition of the other features.

Chanel went classic vintage for their models' look, with liquid natural eye liner applied with a vintage 'flick' effect, creating a dramatic impact in contrast to a matte complexion and rosy-pink natural lip colour.

Last month, backstage stylist Mel Arter encouraged organic cosmetics fans to take risks with their looks, rather than sticking to their tried-and-tested style.
