Emulate Cannes glamour with red lips and smokey eyes
The spectacle of Cannes film festival may have now drawn to a close, but the chic make up looks sported by the stars are still likely to be influencing trends for some time to come.
Beauty bible Elle magazine named its favourite look as a smokey eye accompanied by a red natural lip colour, as worn by a number of starlets at the exclusive event.
Evidence would suggested this look works best on blonde beauties like Rachel McAdams and Clemence Posey, who the publication picked out as among their six of the best.
McAdams opted for a stunning shade of scarlet and subtly lined eyes, keeping her skin rosy and glowing. Posey, meanwhile, plumped for a much more daring dark red hue, accompanied by flawless pale skin.
Ladies who already have a bit of a bronzed summer glow might want to take their cues from model Bar Rafaeli, who opted for a more pinky, sheer lip colour, which was stunning nonetheless.
Makeup artist Sarah Jagger recently advised pulling off this season's trend for colour popping is easy with a bright lip colour, suggesting ladies try orange, fuschia or red, a la the stars in the French Riviera.
